My weekend.

So, this last Sunday I started my new schedule at work. I work Sunday and Monday 6 AM to 4:30 PM. Those last two days were soooo long. The first 5 hours fly by, but the last 5... not so much. I'm so happy to have today and the next 4 days off though, I don't think I could do 4 tens.

On a side note... I have an interview at Brighton Bank on Wednesday at noon! Wish me luck, I could use this second job.

A weekend drive up Mill Creek Canyon

Today, since it's Matt's Sunday, we went for a drive up Mill Creek Canyon to see the colors change and because it's a fun cheap date. Here are some of the photos we took!

Above: is the road on the way home
Below: is a shot of the colors starting to change on the mountain sides.

Above is another shot of the mountain side, I just love the colors, and the camera Matt got me for Christmas 2 years ago is amazing!
Below is just a shot I snapped out of the window of the car. I love the dark tree in the foreground and the red behind it.

We even have purple in the desert... go figure.
Below is a picture of me by the river after a short hike.

Utah has the prettiest nature. I love going to the mountains.

Above is Matt pointing to where we are on the map.
Below is a picture of the rocks jutting out of the side of the mountain

We had so much fun today, its nice to be able to drive for an hour or so and get away from everything.

End of the Shift Bid Dinner.

Tonight Matt and I got to go hang out with a BUNCH of people I work with for the end of the shift bid dinner. We all met at Applebee's. Matt and I got the sampler, with Blackberry Lemonade! MMM. It was fun for Matt to finally be able to put faces with names since I talk about the people I work with a lot. It was also supposed to be a farewell to our friend Nato, because he's being sent to Japan for the Airforce, but for some reason he was unable to come. We had fun anyways, lots of laughs. I'll miss the people I won't see next bid, but I'm excited for my new schedule, and meeting some new people. Hopefully I'll be able to keep in touch with those I won't get to see this next six months.

Temple Saturday!

Matt and I got to go to the Salt Lake Temple for the first time yesterday and it was awesome! I really love that they do live sessions, I feel like I learned so much more this time! I can't believe I waited so long to go, it was so beautiful and of course calming. There is no stress in the Temple, and that's why its one of my favorite places!!! If you haven't been to the Salt Lake Temple, I definitely recommend it! Awesome!

Happy Birthday to Craiger.

We celebrated my dad's birthday last night though it was actually on Friday. We had yummy BBQ steaks with home grown tomatoes and squash. A yummy salad and tons of fruit. Then we had carrot cake with homemade cream cheese frosting and peach smoothies. We always eat like kings at my parents! I love them!

Labor Day.

So, it seems that everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Well guess what? We did too! Matt and I didn't go anywhere special though. We just hung out around here, snuggled, watched some movies and then hung out at my parents. We had Sunday dinner with them, salmon with shrimp and garlic mashed potatoes, fresh tomatoes and israeli melon and a super delicious watermelon and squash! It was a perfect Labor Day weekend dinner. Yesterday I did have to work, but bring on that TIME AND A HALF money! And it was only 5 hours. Then I came home, cuddled with my husband and ate pizza! I love pizza. What a great weekend.

Fall.

I can't believe the summer is already almost over. It didn't get too hot this year, we had a few days, but nothing like we usually get. And its overcast today... I love overcast days. The fall is my favorite season, its still fairly warm out, there is more variety in the colors outside, and my favorite which is NO SNOW! I can't wait for it to really be here!
