Matt is the best.

Matt, being the incredible husband that he is, takes such good care of me.  He works so hard, even though his job doesn't treat him well at all.  Yesterday he called me and said that he had been thinking of me, and found a me a new book ( I love to read). The book is... are you ready? "Pride and Prejudice AND Zombies"!!!  Its totally awesome!  Basically, some guy took Pride and Prejudice and added Zombies into the story! It's so funny!  Matt and I love anything Zombie, so this book is just great!  If you like the classics ok, but think that zombies could improve it just a bit, you have to check it out!

Our Wonderful Weekend

So, Saturday morning I found out, that a good friend of mine and Matt's lost her husband in Afghanistan, he was also a good friend of ours.  She was planning his homecoming, and he was killed.  I'm still so so sad about that.  Frankie Toner IV is and always will be incredibly missed.  He was such a good example to everyone around him, and I KNOW he was the best husband to Brooke, they shared a love that most can only dream of.

Saturday afternoon we hopped in my moms car and headed down to Payson for my sister-in-laws baby shower.  I'm so excited to meet my niece.  Matt is too.  Then we drove home, and my little sisters had their friend Landon over, and we decided that since the twins were going to sleep over, that we should ALL go up to our house and play the Wii, so we did, we played Mario Kart and Smash Brothers, and bowling, and tennis.  Then we all decided to go to a movie because Landon works and The District, so he could get us in free.  We saw, "The Haunting in Connecticut" and it was a little creepy.  It definitely scared the girls, and their friend.  Then we got home, and we made everyone a little dinner, and Landon had to go home, (turns out that Maddy used up his cell phone battery and his phone was dead) on his way home his car died and the poor kid had to walk to find a phone, AT MIDNIGHT! I told Maddy she isn't allowed to use his phone anymore.  Then it was off to bed!

Sunday morning I woke up with a bit of a sore throat and after breakfast, I had some really bad chest pains. After about 30 minutes of my chest pains not going away, I asked Matt to take me to the hospital.  I spent just about all day in the Emergency Room.  They first ran an EKG on me, then took my vitals, then they told me I could have a blood clot in my lungs, so I had to drink this nasty stuff that numbed my mouth and throat and top of stomach, and then they came in to draw my blood, they took like 6 or 7 small vials, and at about the fifth one I got nauseous and threw up.  Awesome.  Then they took me in for a chest x-ray.  Once back in my room, I sat for about an hour and  then the nurse came in and said, oh your xray is clean, you can probably get dressed and we'll see what the doctor says about discharging you. So I slowly got dressed and sat down with Matt.  Then another forty minutes later the doctor came in and told me that my blood tested positive for clots, and since it did, they had to pursue it. So I put the robe back on, (I hate those things) and they came in and put an IV in my arm, IV's are really uncomfortable.  All this time, like three hours, Mary and Maddy were home alone, so I sent Matt home at this point to go check on them, he was back before they even came to get me for the CAT Scan.  Then they finally wheeled me off to the room for the CAT scan, they did one scan of my chest, then they injected into my IV this "contrast" stuff that I guess helps them see clots, the contrast stuff was like iodine, and it makes your whole body hot, and you almost feel like you really have to pee because its so hot.  Then I was done.  They came back about an hour later and told me that everything looked good on the scan and that they didn't know what was causing the pain.  If it gets worse I'm supposed to go back, but so far I haven't really felt it again, except for a little last night, and then I just had Matt give me a blessing. I did call in to work though, because I feel really crappy as far as colds go, and my arms are sore, and I can't do my job if my arms hurt.

Lunch at the Gateway!

Yesterday was such a beautiful, warm day.  I woke up, lazed around a bit with Matt (he didn't end up working because his partner quit and then his job tried to pull a fast one on him.) Then I got ready to go to lunch with Lyndsay! We had so much fun, it was nice to talk to her too, because I hardly ever get to.  Then we went to Forever 21 where we put on ugly sunglasses, and Lynds bought a blingy watch. Then it was off to Old Navy for a comfy dress (they have those long flowy stretchy ones you know) but when we got there, all the cute baby clothes and shoes were on sale for $5!! So I helped Lynds hold the stuff she wanted, helped her pick out cute clothes for baby Rylee, and let me tell you, that child had better be a girl. She ended up spending more than she wanted to, and was afraid Chase was going to be mad, so we devised a plan, she would go home and tell him she bought a lot so that HE could pick out what he liked, like $50 worth, and they could return the rest. We ended the day with oatmeal and Jamba's from none other than Jamba! I ended up with a cute skirt for church for Spring from DownEast outfitters and then when I finally got home to see my husband, (and feed him, we blocked his car in the driveway the whole time) I couldn't stop thinking about the cute dresses from Old Navy, so Matt let me go back with him to try it on, he didn't really like it at first, but then he started to so I got it, and now I have a comfy dress to wear to church, and guess what? I don't have to  shave if I wear it! YES! HAHAH!

Plumeria

So, I stumbled across a new beautiful flower today. I was googling pictures for Matt (his project that he's working on is drawing and painting me a flower painting for our room) and I had no idea that my favorite flowery scent came from this gorgeous flower.

Weekend!!!

So, yesterday was Senior Night at the Huntsman Center for Gymnastics, the last time that Seniors, Nina Kim and Kristina Baskett will perform there for the Utes.  It was pretty fun! We spanked the Florida Gators and Kristina Baskett got a perfect 10 on her uneven bars performance!  It was a pretty good show.  Today, Matt is working, until 4 and then maybe we'll go out or something. Tomorrow is church, and then back to work on Monday.  Monday and Tuesday however, I work two tens and then I'm off for the rest of the week until Monday! WOOP! Unfortunately, Matt's days off are Monday, (when I'm at work) and Wednesday, which is good, but then the rest of my awesome weekend, he works, and work is nice, but I'm going to be bored out of my mind!!! Let me know if you want to hang out, I'll be totally free!

UHP! UGH!

So, as some of you already know, I got pulled over yesterday! UGH! I hate the Highway Patrol, they are such jerks.  I know its not their fault I was speeding, its my fault, but sheesh!  You don't have to be an A#$.  So, anyways, I have been sleeping a lot lately and it bugs me, I think the trip to NY (even though it was just a couple of days) really screwed up my clock, (we also didn't really sleep while we were there).  I haven't been doing anything around the house lately, (well I did do some laundry, and I've done dishes, but I haven't vacuumed, or anything else).  I've been trying to stay up after work so that I can just go to sleep at night when I normally would and get back on track, but when you're tired its so hard. UGH!

Oh boy.

I just feel like blogging right now. I don't have much to say, other than, Matt seriously needs a new job.  OH, and I should probably start making dinner of some kind, and I slept all day!!! It felt good to sleep all day, but I hate it when I do that, Thursdays are supposed to be my day for cleaning so that I can just enjoy my weekend, but I didn't get much done at all. I did a little laundry and cleaned the kitchen. I should clean the bathroom, but I guess I'll do that tomorrow. Lazy, lazy me! I'm lucky that I'm the neat freak, and Matt doesn't really mind! HAH! Well, that's all I can think of, until next time! Love!

New York, New York

So, Matt and I are back!  Just a quick re-cap.  We left Thursday afternoon, and arrived in NY at about 11 pm.  Matt's parents picked us up and took us back to Grandpa's house, it was there we discovered that we'd all be staying there for the weekend.  Matt and I had to share an air matress... both being rather large individuals this was hard, not because we couldn't fit, but because when we both lay down on it,  it becomes super inflated and hard.  The "comfort ripples" just became a major pain in the butt.  Friday we didn't have to be up until about 9 or 10 because we weren't to be at the funeral home until 1:30 pm, so we all slowly got up and started to get ready.  Then Vivian came down and wanted everyone to shower... I had showered right before we left Thursday, so I told her I wasn't showering and then it was 20 questions as to why... I'm an every other day showerer.  So then Matt tells her.. "Ma, she's not Italian, she doesn't stink!"  It was pretty funny.  So we drove all three cars to the funeral home, and we sat there for about 3 and a half hours.  It was long, and it was hard because it was emotional.  People came to pay their respects and it was amazing how well people knew each other... there was a lot of support and it was beautiful.  Then it was home for dinner and an hour to relax, then it was back to the funeral home for the service.  Frank Mansuetto spoke, Matt and Mike spoke about their memories of grandpa, and then Bob did the eulogy.  It was a beautiful service and I was surprised because before we left Matt was preparing me for a  Catholic service, but it wasn't.  It was just like an LDS service.  Bob said that he thought that that may have been what was best for grandpa.  So, Friday night after everything I made Matt get me pizza!  I love NY pizza.  Then we came home and went to bed.  We had to be up early the next morning because the limo was picking us up at 8:15.  I got up at 6:15 to shower which was easy for me because I didn't really sleep anyway.  ( I had never been in a limo for a funeral before...) but it was nice. We all got to drive together and I think we may have been to tired to drive ourselves anyways.  So it was back to the funeral home for a bit for a last viewing.  Some of the older cousins came and it was so cute.  They had some fun stories to share.  Then we left for the burial, they arranged for a military service, so when we pulled up to the site, they were saluting ( grandpa was in the air core).  We all got a red rose and were standing out side next to the grave for some last thoughts, then the bugle started to play TAPS and I started to cry, really cry for the first time since I'd been there.  Then they folded up the flag to present it to Bob, the gentleman there turned to face us and we saw that he'd been crying too.  It was sweet.  We all said our last goodbyes, laid our roses down and got back to the car to head for lunch.  I know this is becoming an extremely long entry and those of you that made it this far... thanks for caring.  We ate our lunch, visited with family, and then headed home for naps!!! Then that evening Matt, Mike and I were going to meet Jenn Bailey, Lindsey Kelly and some others at Applebees for a visit.  We were supposed to meet at the one in New Hyde Park, and Matt nor Mike knew where that was, so we ended up passing it and getting lost in Hempstead for like forty minutes.  We finally made it and had a nice visit.  Then it was home again to sleep and get ready to leave.  We helped Vivian at the house in Wheatley Heights Sunday morning before we had to leave, then we were off to the airport.  The first leg of the flight was good, then Matt and I realized that on the second leg we weren't seated next to eachother.  We both had middle seats in rows one right behind the other. We got on the plane and asked the two men sitting by the windows if they minded trading (and of course they don't have to) and they didn't, so I said, ok, we'll see if we can get someone else to.  So then the gentleman came to sit on the aisle of my row, I asked him politely and he says to me "I don't really want to sit there because I've had a long day" (I'm overly exhausted from getting almost no sleep the whole weekend, and I just came from a funeral but he's had a bad day) Anyways... I was like ok.  And at this point I am on the verge of tears because I'm tired and I'm sitting between two JERKS!  Luckily this extremely nice lady sat down next to Matt and she was so sweet about switching.  I was so grateful.  PS the guy on the aisle in my row... totally in the wrong seat... but anyways.  We finally made it back to SL and eventually out to the car.... then after a fifteen minute drive home we got straight into bed and passed out dead.  Home at about 11:45  and we didn't wake up until noon.  It felt fantastic!  AND apparently someone was coming to view the house today between 11 and 1.  Matt got up at noon because he heard them upstairs, but he didn't wake me. Luckily they didn't want to come downstairs... because I didn't even get the txt until 12:30 HAH! Anyways, thats been our weekend... long I know... thanks for sticking around.
