The State Fair

This will be a boring post for most of you because I have no pictures. But boy oh boy did we have a blast! Matt and I went with my family to the State fair yesterday and it was so awesome! We got there and we immediately got slushes because it was HOT, then we saw the cows, goats, pigs and sheep. We also saw Al the Giant Alligator from Florida. He was pretty big, but not much bigger than the Alligator at Hogle Zoo. Good thing it was only $1 to see him. Then we got our large sodas to tide us over. We wandered around and looked at all the crafts and award winning food. Saw some awesome booths with some awesome things for sale. Then we listened to the band for a bit, which was way fun. We of course had to get some food, there were onion rings and cajun catfish, there were frog legs and crawfish, there were funnel cakes, elephant ears and chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick. Matt and I kept changing our minds about what we wanted, first we wanted deep fried PB&J, then it was an elephant ear, then it was nachos, then it was alligator, fried pickles or a bloomin' onion. But once we heard about the chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick, we knew what we wanted. As we were headed down to the booth with the said cheesecake, we saw a booth that had Kahlua pig, and roasted turkey thighs, and those looked DELISH! But after making our way to our cheesecake, and then eating it, we were WAY too full to eat anything else. We also got to take a really cute picture with the seals they had at the fair, and they were so cute! A good time was had by all who were present and I can't wait to do it again next year!
