Funny stuff!

Aside from being sick, still, we had another viewing of the house today! And guess what? They didn't even bother with the downstairs! I guess the pink kitchen threw them off! I love that kitchen. Anyways, the life of Matt and Barb is totally fantastic! I was talking to Deanna yesterday and I explained to her, that even though we can't afford much, and our jobs are ludicrous, you'd think we wouldn't have much to be happy about, but the awesome thing about being married to the love of your life, is that, no matter what the situation is, poor as dirt, crappy jobs, you're just happy! =)  I love being married!

Oh yeah, and I'm totally obsessed with Law & Order!

And tomorrow is my FRIDAY! WOOP!

Twilight

I guess I'm going to have to follow in my good friend Jenn's footsteps and read the Twilight books again.  Unfortunately I only have the first one, but she'll probably let me borrow the second one!  I love Twilight.  Although the acting in the film was not really very great, I loved it! And I will be buying it!

Sick. Blah.

So, I felt really sick yesterday when I got home from work! I must've drank a million cups of tea with two million tablespoons of honey! Then I woke up this morning feeling worse. I went to work anyways, and was tempted to come home early, but avoided doing so, I don't have that many sick hours, and I don't want to look like a flake.  Matt had a good meeting with his bosses yesterday, and will be getting reimbursed for his gas.  Finally, but his pay stub we got today looks a little strange, so I need him to look at it. I hope he isn't getting screwed.

I'm watching Law & Order. I'm addicted. Addicted to all three.  Why do I love crime?  I'm going to see "My Bloody Valentine" with Matt tonight, and we're both also addicted to Bones and Dexter. And I don't know how many of you have watched "Fringe" but its also incredible, its like House meets X-Files. I love both of those too!  And "Pushing Daisies" is another fantastic show, and believe it or not, its one of the only ones on TV now that doesn't involve sex. Probably because if Ned touches his girlfriend with his skin, she'll die.  Anyways, America's Next Top Model is marathoning on Sundays, and I'm also addicted to that. I have a lot of vices! And most are on TV! HAH!

I hope we don't have to move!

So, I have just been so irritated lately because of all the realtors and people coming to view the house.  I knew that we would have to deal with it, but I didn't realize it would be every dang day!  The house has been empty with hardly any views for a year and a half!  Now all of a sudden, as soon as we get settled we have people coming like three or four days a week! GRR! I'd just like to have a little time. I don't want to pack up and move again!

Anyways, enough about that, I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing me complain.  Matt has a chance to get a new job coming up in the first week or so of February, and I hope it works out!  He could use a different job, working for a company that knows how to treat employees.  He also is now helping an old friend of my sisters with the artwork for a book she wants to publish, which is totally cool! And just what he needs! For those of you who don't know... Matt is the most incredible artist ever!!  We're both really helping that this works out, it's a serious chance for him to get his artwork out there, and to get noticed!  We're pretty stoked, but other than that, its just the usual.  Chuggin along!

So, I spoke to my Aunt today and found out a couple tidbits about the house.  The people that viewed it really like the house, but they are apparently still looking around.  My aunt says it will probably be about a month or so before they even decide if they want this house, and then another 30 days for financing.  Plus, even if they make an offer on the house and its accepted, financing could fall through.  SO, I'm just not going to worry about it, and maybe they'll find something else they like more.  Who knows?  Anyways, other than that, Matt applied for a new job, and I think he has a pretty good chance of getting it.  Life is good, we're happy, and we're just chuggin' along, working, spending time with friends, family, and each other.

Home

So, Matt and I have been living in the basement of my grandparents home, since November.  The idea was to let us live here so we could take care of it, like shovel sidewalks and what not, until it sold.  When the idea came up, I felt it was such a blessing because I had lost my good job at Wells Fargo, and am now stuck working part time at the Airport for TSA.  As most of you know, finding one job is hard these days, let alone trying to find two.  So with me only working part time, and Matt's bosses taking advantage of him every chance they get, things are real tight.  With all our bills, we can barely afford the $350 utility/rent payment we make here.  Needless to say, as much as I don't want my grandparents to have to keep worrying about the house, every time someone comes to view it, I panic.  Someone came to look at it two days ago, guess what?  They're coming to take a second look at it today.  I don't know what this means, and I'm freaking out.  If someone buys the house, we'll have to move out and we can't afford to pay rent for an apartment.  We'll have to move in to my parents basement, and thats something I don't want to put them through.

Work, work, work!

All we do is work. Life is work, marriage is work, and  for those things to work, we must... work. Its not terrible.  It keeps us busy, on our toes.  The things you work for are more important than those you don't.  You always appreciate the things you've worked for so much more than the things just handed to you.

Matt's job is a job, and we're both grateful to have jobs.  The only problem is, I don't believe Matt's bosses are grateful for him.  Matt has always been such an example when it comes to work, he does what he's asked, even if he doesn't want to, and he's pretty even tempered.  Lately though, his bosses have been taking serious advantage of him.  He has been there for about 5 months, and when they said they would make him an armed guard and pay more, we were stoked.  Even more stoked when he was made the head of the Re-Po division a month or so later.  Unfortunately, that didn't last long. The company lost the contract and Matt was then made a Field Supervisor, (okay...) his job is to drive to the different stores and sites to check on the other employees in his division, and to report to the main office.  He was promised a "work car", never happened.  A month or two ago, Matt asked his boss about the car, "we're  working on it." was the response he got.  Well, how about reimbursement for my gas? "we're working on it."  "we're trying to get you put on salary right now, then we'll figure out the car situation".  About a week and half ago, Matt gets a disturbing phone call from his boss... "why haven't you been getting your 40 hours a week?" "you're on salary you know".  Matt had never been told, and he'd been working what he was scheduled.  He asked his boss to take a look at his pay stub, because when he received it, it didn't look like he was on salary.  Guess what? HE WASN'T!  He was being harassed for nothing.  I just can't believe his bosses.  We just found out they hired a new Private Eye three weeks ago (Matt was also supposed to be licensed for Private Eye but they dropped the ball on that too).  Not only does he make more than a "Field Supervisor", he gets reimbursed for his mileage and his gas.  What is the point is sharing this story in a blog?  I don't know, I guess just to vent.  Check back next time, hopefully for a happier story.  Like one that involves an attorney, and a new job.  :)
